So… a goofy photo of me, holding an early ’70’s Yamaha acoustic guitar… The first ‘real’ decent guitar I ever purchased. Loved this ‘ax’ but, it was too big for me. I weighed 115 pounds then… I ended up selling it to my friend from the Tabor youth group, Don Brees.
Move ahead FIFTY years… Don stopped by, while visiting the old stomping grounds. We reconnected a few years ago- one of the few benefits of that Facebook place… And, he brought the guitar with him… Always good to see him. And, as my lovely wife says, it’s nice to know good people, who are making a difference in the world…..
So, here is a video from Youtube. Don has a site/page, and, here he is, playing said guitar….
Hey… Yup. Still alive… Like I had said, w/ a new knee, we’ve been busy not doing things… But getting back to normal, so to speak, so, out doing the music stuff… We went to the Brown County Ukulele Festival, last weekend, and had a great time. All kinds of tunes, and fun. Hang out with friends that we see a couple times a year, but make a difference in your life… Play tunes, catch up, repeat… Here’s a couple videos. One of us, and, a couple of the amazing Sharla Rae and her ‘band’ the Raeguns… A ton of fun, and proud to be involved ….. We had Sharla, Mike August, Ray, me, Maggie and Diane, all adding to the fun…

Here we are, Mid July already! Man… Time does fly, but I don’t need to tell you that… Picnics, yard work, get togethers with friends, gigs, road trips, and….
July 2nd, Grass Attack played a gig in Brodhead, Wisconsin. A ton of fun, for us, and the people who started off the Independence Day celebrations, by joining us.
We celebrated the 4th, by heading up to Wisconsin again, to Sharon, where my brother in law’s band, Fast Lane, was playing. Great time. Great band.
Fast Lane, the cool band! Cool Fast Lane T-shirts!My sister Jeannine- Tammy was wandering about, and us, at Stan’s gig
Our good friend, Ray Cygrymus ordered up a batch of T-shirts, so, we got them. Look pretty slick!
Hi. We know this guy… Known him for 20ish years. Met him standing in a circle, in the dark, in the country, playing tunes w/ a bunch of other people… Nice guy. Great musician. A lot of fun… So, we became friends. Playing at different jams and such. Then, around ten years ago, we went to a ukulele fest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and there he was. We had dinner, hung out, and became closer friends. Since then, we have been all over the country, on musical and non musical adventures. We’ve played together at gigs, and at parties. He’s a stand up guy, that, we count ourselves blessed to have as a friend. He’s rescued us at the airport at midnight, when travel was FUBARed. We’ve discussed, and ‘solved’ the worlds problems, talking for hours. But, today is his birthday… So, we wanted to say a VERY happy birthday to the amazing Michael August… Check out his tunes, on that Youtube thing…
Hey kids… A little while ago, we went to a ukulele fest, in S. Indiana. The Brown County Ukulele Festival. Good times. Great friends. Fab tunes…. Got to see peeps irl, that we hadn’t seen in a long time, and hear some amazing musicians… If you are interested, keep your eyes open, for the dates, etc…

Hey kids… So, blowing our own, local horn… Last Friday, or as some say, Friday last, we- The Magtones– played the acoustic stage ( it’s a spot, not a stage, actually) at the local city market… That is quite a feather in our small caps… We played from 5 to 8pm, and had a lot of fun… Our amazing, and very nice friend Michael August, was nice enough to join us for the fun… And, it’s always more fun when he plays/jams with us, or anyone, for that matter….
Hey kids… So, we have a gig on Friday, July 29th, from 5:00-8:30pm, downtown at the Acoustic stage, at City Market. Our VERY special guest is the amazing Mike August… That makes it extra fun! The acoustic stage is by the fountain, on Water St, just north of Market St. (The City Market hours are 4-8:30pm. We play from 5:30-8:00pm). C’mon down, have some fun, food, and tunes… We hope we see you!!!!
