Survived the surgery

Hi

boy, the title makes it sound more serious than it was. The knee surgery went fine. Got the torn stuff outta there, and now it’s time to stretch, heal, and get ready for NYC…

The hospital staff was great. They even pulled an April fools joke on me in prep.  It was my right knee that needed the surgery, but, the woman that came in to prep my leg, i.e. shave and disinfect, pulled out the LEFT knee and started to work on that one. “Um, I’m having work done on my RIGHT knee”, I said. “April fools!”, she said… Ha….

It only took an hour for the surgery, then two hours in recovery, then an hour in the room to get dressed and wheeled down to the car… Home, and then food for the first time in 22 hours. That was nice. Maggie was a great nurse. She made sure that everything went well, for her and me… Thursday, we laid low, resting and recuperating from the adventure. I had this ice thing on my knee for three days. A bladder attached to a cooler filled w/ ice and water, with tubes that connected to the knee bladder, to ice my leg. Works great…

Today, we went on our first adventure out into the world. Starbucks, Target, Kohls, and the nature shop for birdseed. That was enough today for my knee. Home now and rest it for a while, then, who knows…? I may go back to work on Monday, depends on how good I feel, swelling wise… We’ll see.  Have to get out and about….

Thanks for listening and I will update later in the week…

Sometimes it’s just gotta go….

Hi

Been busy this week, with work & life. Like that’s outta the ordinary.  We are working our way towards a new guitar.  A Froggy Bottom brand.  A rather high end, hand made instrument.  www.froggybottomguitars.com.

So, I have to sell one out of the closet.  I have had this guitar for 32 years, come Nov.

If anyone is interested in it, & you should be, ‘cuz it’s a great guitar, here is the link to the forum

Our doctor says to use less salt

Hi,

Sunday was so nice that Maggie got the tools out and washed the cars. Glad she likes to do that, ‘cuz I don’t. She is the gearhead, not me. And a cute head it is, along with her gear. If it was a broom, I’d say she swept me off my feet the moment I met her.

A salt free diet. . . She never misses a spot. . . . And I’ll leave it @ that. . .

Lucky me. . .

Maggie and Tim’s gig-or-what I did for music

http://youtube.com/v/-3k5KmC8Rt4

Hi,

here is the readers digest version of our gig @ the bluegrass valentine jam. It was our very first ever, in front of people on purpose, by ourselves gig. It was great to be the opening act for all the other bands and musicians. It was good to have a chance to do our material, which isn’t standard bluegrass type stuff. Hope you like it.

Goodbye Aunt Bernyce

Aunt Bernyce. . .

Hi,
Well, you know, time marches on, and the wheel of life keeps turning, whether you want it to or not. . .

Maggie got a phone call yesterday from her cousin Janet. Aunt Bernyce passed away Monday afternoon. She was a no nonsense, straightforward person, that will be missed and thought of often.
She had a long, full, very full, life. She sometimes thought a little too long, but I have never met anyone with as much faith, determination, energy, and sharing.
She will be missed, but not forgotten. . .

Welcome home. . .
