BCUF. 2022

Hey kids… Well, we are home from our first adventure in a while… We were lucky enough to go to the Brown County Uke Fest, over the weekend. 2021 was canceled, like everything else, last year. This year, we got lucky. Headed off Thursday morning, with our friend Mike, and, 10 minutes later, a call from our dear sister Diane, that she was coming too!!! SURPRISE! Now, it was gonna be a full blown party. We visited with old and new friends. Played a metric ton of music. Watched amazing musicians, and made it home in one piece, no worse for wear… Seeing Diane was a high point. Hadn’t in real life, in a year and a half…. A big thanks to Mainland Ukes, Mike Hater, Pete and Dee McCarty, Greg Gent, Jeremy Roberts, Denise Martin, Devin Scott, Sam Anderson, AND a hundred other people, who made it a killer weekend… 🎶

Secret Agent Man…

Hey kids… So, have loved this tune since it was released in 1966. Very hip/edgy and all that… The original tv show was called ‘Danger Man’, when first produced in 1964 in the UK. When it came to the US in 1966, title was changed to ‘Secret Agent Man’… Johnny Rivers had a hit w/ the tune… A lot of Cold War spy tv shows and movies then. This one, ‘the man from UNCLE’, ‘The girl from UNCLE’. James Bond… Etc… But always liked this tune…. Anyway, here is The Magtones version, w/ a lot of help from our friend Mike… He always makes a song better…. Hope you like it…

We Can Almost Hear the Dr DeMento Show…

Hey kids. Been awhile. Outside of the holidays, and some jamming, not a lot going on. Not a bad thing. One thing going on recently, was this collaboration… Our amazing friend, Elizabeth Safely Brinker wrote, sang, and played uke on this. The smooth Martin Hoffman was killer on the Ubass. And, the one, the only Michael August added great harp. I did the rhythm guitar, to finish it up… Hope you like it… Cuz, it’s soooo good…

Hi. Welcome to autumn… Been gettin’ chillier around the midwest, the last couple days….. And speaking of the last couple days, we played at Katie’s Cup, a local coffee house, and indoor farmers market, last Thursday. The Great Facebook Fiasco

HI there, everyone…. So, Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp all bit the dust for several hours, yesterday-Monday… IMO, they did us a favor, to wean us off, and, to show that we can live without them, and, that there are other alternatives to the Zuckerberg circus… I admit, I did miss Instagram a little, but other than that…. Meh…. Our lives went on. Yard work, errands, music, and projects… My lovely wife baked 2 apple pies, and a crisp, with apples we picked. Oh, even got our flu shots. So, did I miss some of our friends adventures? Yes. But, did not miss the sh1t show that can be Facebook…
