Briggs Mansion Ghost Hunt
Sunday evening, March 11th, we went on a ghost hunt at the Briggs mansion. It was built in 1862. The docent mentioned that, when the 3″ thick front doors were hung, Abraham Lincoln had been president a year. Wow…
We listened to history for 15 minutes, then wandered and explored for an hour.
Then we met back in the parlor and dining rooms, to listen to two mediums of good report, tell us their impressions.
Quite the evening, if nothing else, from a historical pov. A lovely old house, with more to it than meets the eye…

Nothing Says Merry Christmas, Like Scary Reindeer
Jonquils and Gargoyles
So, spring is here in the Midwest. Warm, cool. Sunny, rainy. It changes, moment to moment. We do so enjoy the return of the flowers popping out, and the sound of the small waterfall in the pond, and Vinnie, the bouncer gargoyle. Standing by the pond, Feeling the sun on your shoulders, and hearing the birds coming out of winter retirement, is a real elixir of the soul.
It’s the little things that make life joyful…
An Irish memory
These young ladies performed in Galway, the day we were there. I
imagine that they are involved in celebration this week…
Acoustic Roots
Ah, snow…
We finally had a good old winter storm. It had to come. We knew that. Doesn’t mean we have to like it…
The first real snow like this has a bit of magic. It also informs you that winter is here. Really here. Get used to it. So, we have no choice, but to accept that the earth is asleep for the next couple months. On the bright side, no pun intended, the days will start being brighter, lighter, longer, in a few weeks. All hail the Holly King.
Make the most of the Yule season, my friends. It comes but once a year…
