It’s been a hot and dry summer, but you knew that, if you are in the USA. We’ve seen storms, beaches, blindingly bright mornings. And, the best is yet to come. Our Independence day celebration is not to be out done. Friends. Food. Fireworks! Life is good What more could one ask for?!

Sunday evening, March 11th, we went on a ghost hunt at the Briggs mansion. It was built in 1862. The docent mentioned that, when the 3″ thick front doors were hung, Abraham Lincoln had been president a year. Wow…
We listened to history for 15 minutes, then wandered and explored for an hour.
Then we met back in the parlor and dining rooms, to listen to two mediums of good report, tell us their impressions.
Quite the evening, if nothing else, from a historical pov. A lovely old house, with more to it than meets the eye…
Half of winter is under the bridge. Celebrated St. Brigid’s day, yesterday, Groundhog day today, and, coming up, my lovely wife’s birthday! So, it’s not as dark this winter!
So, spring is here in the Midwest. Warm, cool. Sunny, rainy. It changes, moment to moment. We do so enjoy the return of the flowers popping out, and the sound of the small waterfall in the pond, and Vinnie, the bouncer gargoyle. Standing by the pond, Feeling the sun on your shoulders, and hearing the birds coming out of winter retirement, is a real elixir of the soul.
It’s the little things that make life joyful…
